While the film is finished, there are still opportunities to join us, as we work towards screenings, distribution, and opportunities for private and public events. We are excited to continue connecting with like-minded organizations to ensure this film reaches as many people as possible.

Support our friends

The Marathon of Afghanistan is not just a marathon, it’s part of a movement for equality. You can make a direct donation to the marathon through the Afghan Sport Trust. Should you feel adventurous enough participate, you can also find information on how to make that a reality there.

Skateistan is an international non-profit organization which empowers children through skateboarding and education in Afghanistan. Zainab, who was the first Afghan woman to run a marathon in Afghanistan is the Country Director for Afghanistan and we believe in her and the work she is doing to support women and girls through sport.

Free to Run uses adventure sports to support women and girls living in areas of conflict, developing them into community leaders. We provide them with the tools to succeed and support them to transfer those successes to their everyday lives because they can and will be a force for positive change.

261 Fearless is a global non-profit organization using running as a vehicle to empower & unite women through Education Programs. They facilitate running clubs and train women to become running coaches so women all around the world can run in a safe and supported environment. The name “261” was inspired by the race bib number that Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run the Boston Marathon wore when she completed that landmark race.
